Literature Text

You may see me as a clown
But I wear my face upside down

It's not to be funny you see
Something is broken inside of me

I used to laugh and be happy
Now I am sad and sappy

I lost a dear friend today
That's why my smile has gone away

When I look for him, I cannot see
Where in the world he could be

I look and look for minutes and hours
With every passing moment, my smile sours

When I sit in my tent late at night
I wonder how he could have gotten out of my sight

I lay on my pillow and close my eyes tight
I won't give up without a fight

The children look at me and they can't see
My smile is the biggest part of me

I need to fix it and move on
Or my job here will soon be gone

I go to the magician to get some advice
He said to turn the mirror over once or twice

I do as he says and I am on my way
My smile has found me, its a great day
just a silly poem
